Runners at the corners

Some dink on sports center said yesterday

"Runners on the corners"

which is probably the worst and most incorrect cliche in baseball announcing.

For everybody in the world who reads this, there are exactly 4 corners in the baseball diamond, which is actually a square. home, first second, third. Runners at the corners is meaningless.

As is the exclamation, "at the end of three innings, there is no score."
